I’ve always touted my favorite web host, AffordableHOST, since they offer competitive hosting packages, personal service and minimal downtime.
They’ve just made it easier for the rest of you out there to jump ship and join them. Just got this in my inbox today:
Greetings!
Many of you have told us that you are currently waiting on hosting accounts, with other companies, to expire so that you may transfer those accounts to AffordableHOST. If you’re currently frustrated with another host, we’d like to make things a little easier and offer to transfer any remaining time you have with them.
That is, we will now honor any leftover time you have with another host. We will honor UP TO SIX MONTHS of your remaining time, from your contract, with your former host. The time will be applied to one of our existing packages listed on our website.
This offer is extended to everyone, so feel free to tell a friend.
If you have any questions, regarding these changes, please do not hesitate
to stop by our Live Chatroom or submit a HelpDesk ticket.
Thank you!

Since I sold the Street Angel last week and am now running around in a sweet little 1994 Honda Accord LX (sage green), I decided to splurge and update its sound system. I went to a local (my side of town) car audio shop on the Gulf Freeway, Cartronix. Not too many people there had great command of the King’s English. Most of them spoke only Spanish. But the salesman was fluent in my mother tongue so I bought this guy to replace the Clarion aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette that was already there. (That’s going up on e-Bay in a few weeks.) The good news? I was happy that I paid a mere $379 for it, which included installation! As you notice, the MRSP is $550. For once, I came out ahead. (We won’t talk about the hard shell PDA case that someone bought last week and paid way too much for….)
I’ll post pictures of Jane Fhonda (that’s my name for the car; since people just weren’t getting “Fenry Honda”) as soon as I get the Mavica out of the trunk.

1. List five things you’d like to accomplish by the end of the year.
(a) Get organized. I may have some help with this before the year’s up.
(b) Give both cats a bath; preferably before I move next week.
(c) Move next week.
(d) Work on coming into the office earlier (so I can leave earlier too!)
(e) See Robert improve significantly, possibly even see him come HOME before the year’s over.
2. List five people you’ve lost contact with that you’d like to hear from again.
(a) My buddy, THC (The Real Thing) in San Antonio.
(b) Sky Walker. I forgive you, this makes twice. Now, call me.
(c) Leighton, just because I’d love to hear you play Danny Boy on your National Steel once more.
(d) My neice, Twyla, who is halfway across the country in “Lost Wages.” Have car will travel. ROAD TRIP!!!
(e) My airline pilot buddy with the hot temper in Sandee, CA. He knows who he is.
3. List five things you’d like to learn how to do.
(a) Play acoustic guitar.
(b) Play piano
(c) Blow a bubble (bubble gum)
(d) Ride a bicycle (okay, I was a sheltered child, can you tell?)
(e) Become fluent in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
4. List five things you’d do if you won the lottery (no limit).
(a) Buy an old bungalow in a quiet old neighborhood.
(b) Fill it with antiques
(c) Buy a Hummer (not the H2, but the wider, more angular predecessor, the H2)
(d) Buy a “choice” (anyone remember Ferris’ use of this word in reference to a sweet car?) Bricklin SV-1
(e) Donate to my favorite charities, Adopt-A-Cat, Houston SPCA, Caring Critters.
5. List five things you do that help you relax.
(a) Listen to my Michael Jones “Sunscapes” tape (new age piano)
(b) Play Bedazzled on my Sony Clie.
(c) Take a long hot shower and wrap up in my fluffy terry robe afterward with a nice magazine, preferably PC World or Windows Mag. But Southern Living or House Beautiful will do.
(d) Take a drive, especially when I don’t have anywhere to go. It was really nice doing this in my 300ZX, especially in the evening, with the T-Tops off. But it’s just as relaxing in my Honda Accord, especially with the Michael Jones tape in the cassette deck.
(e) Play with, pet and tickle my two cats.

1. Using one adjective, describe your current living space. Vintage.
2. Using two adjectives, describe your current employer. No comment.
3. Using three adjectives, describe your favorite hobby/pastime. Design, design, design.
4. Using four adjectives, describe your typical day. Harried, hectic, productive, never-ending.
5. Using five adjectives, describe your ideal life. Serene, industrious, long, Robert, cats. (Not all adjectives, but I think that was kind of a lame stipulation anyway.)
